AI Engineer (all genders)

Hybrid, Frankfurt
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

Our software catches every error on package leaflets and labels. You make it smarter with AI.
You bring AI into Text Verification Tool (TVT) – reliably, securely and in a way our regulated customers can trust.

TVT verifies text, images, barcodes and spelling deterministically – a mark of quality for pharma and medtech companies worldwide. As our first AI Engineer, you add AI-supported features on top of these checks, for example OCR and multilingual comparison. You work across our existing product teams rather than in a single team, and most of your time goes into TVT product features, another part is contributing to the AI adoption in the company.
  • Evaluate and prioritise AI use cases for TVT together with Product Management
  • Develop production-ready AI features for TVT (OCR, LLMs, NLP, computer vision)
  • Implement, host, monitor and secure AI services in productive environments
  • Support our product teams in integrating new AI features into product portfolio (Desktop, Web, SaaS)
  • Make sure AI features can be validated and are testable and documented for regulated customers (e.g. GxP)
  • Choose the technical approach, models, tools and frameworks within our architecture and security guidelines
  • Automate internal processes for example in Sales, Support and Operations with AI

Your profile

  • Degree in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, computer science, data science or a comparable field
  • At least 3 years of professional experience, including hands-on experience with AI/ML or LLM applications in productive systems
  • Strong programming skills and experience with cloud infrastructure and APIs
  • Experience in implementing, hosting, monitoring and securing AI services
  • Experience with document, text or image processing (NLP, OCR, computer vision)
  • A pragmatic mindset: you think in terms of product value and can explain AI to non-technical colleagues
  • Openness to the challenges that come with regulated industries – experience with GxP or medical device software is a plus
  • Fluent English; German and knowledge of our technology stack (C++, C#) are a plus

Why us?

  • A key role with real responsibility: you shape how AI becomes part of TVT from the start
  • A product with purpose: TVT helps make sure patients and consumers receive correct information
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
  • Workation possibility
  • Spendit card after your probation period

  • Team lunches and team events, both global and local
  • A centrally located office

About us

Schlafender Hase develops TVT, a content verification platform for regulated industries. TVT verifies text, images, barcodes and spelling across different file formats, languages and layouts, ensuring error-free documentation before you print or publish. Today, more than 440 companies in pharma, medical devices, FMCG/CPG and crop science rely on it.

Founded in Frankfurt in 2001 (our name – German for "sleeping hare" – started out as an internal code name), we are now a team of around 40 people, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main with an office in Montréal, Canada. With Maguar Capital joining as a new investor in 2026, we have entered our next phase of growth – and that is where you come in.
